How Does Lenticular Work? |
|
Very often I get the basic question asked of me: "How does lenticular work?"
Basically, a lenticular lens takes a special interlaced graphic and creates left eye and right eye views for you. The animation below is of an accordian-folded paper lenticular. This is certainly not how we print lenticular, but this is a fun exercise for the kids and a similar concept.
How did we do it?

- Take 2 images (in this case a butterfly and a bee)
- Slice them in equal widths
- Arrange them in a new file (A, B, A, B...)
- Lay them next to each other in the file, then print out and fold carefully like an accordian
- There you have it, a super-simple lenticular that will impress the kids. =)
