5 Tips for Great Motion Lenticular |
|
- Use the right tools for the job.
Many times, thick lenticular is best... but not always. A thin lens like 14mil can be perfect if your pc is small. 24mil lens the newest thing for motion lens, but it won't work for some art.
- This isn't your mom and pop's videocamera...
Drop the cassettes and betacam! Use a high definition videocamera, and make sure that the image is deinterlaced before sending to us. (see below for detail)
- Dont move too much!
Make sure and use a tripod if you are shooting. Don't try to squeeze a 30 second commercial under a lenticular lens... it just wont work. Shoot for a 5 sec commercial - max. Small moving images on static backgrounds works best.
- Be loopy.
Looping means it starts and ends in one smooth move. You can find great looping stock footage on sites like http://www.istock.com/. This type of motion looks particularly great on lenticular.
- Sometimes, it's better just to flip out.
If you have a point of sale display or a larger size project, you can still get the motion "look" with a flip lenticular. It will just be less fuzzy and the motion more noticeable on the shelf as you walk by.
As always, you can contact us for samples and suggestions. There are no "one size fits all" recommendations, and we genuinely like to help. =)
