Lenticular vs. Azuna

Printer Friendly

This is quite likely the most common question I get since we launched Azuna in June of this year. Yes, it's spelled "Azuna", not Azuma or Azima.

There are three main differences;

  1. Azuna only does 3D; Lenticular does more than 3D, including flips, morph, etc... lenticular effects examples here.
  2. Some art is better for Azuna than Lenticular, and vice versa... it really comes down to art direction. The clean, flat ipod look is good for Azuna. A jungle scene is better for lenticular. Just send me a low-res of the art, I'll point you in the right direction.
  3. Lenticular Lenses comes in a variety of thicknesses, from 7mil up to 80mil.  Azuna comes in 21mil.  So, Azuna is out for roll label applications. We use lenticular labels on a roll for high-speed, high-volume magazine cover and packaging applications.
